I PASSED!!!

A week ago, looking at my rented graduation gown always involved deep sighs and wishful thinking. A day never passed without deliberating for options in case we get the dreaded RED MARK. NOW? I can't even contain my excitement for my two-month long on-the-job training. All I can think about today is what to wear on 31st. Though this is not the final stretch, I still have two more years to go in this rollercoaster ride (we graduate thrice) the feeling of achievement that I made it this far is inexplicable. Seeing those classic movies where college graduates throw their caps high up in the air became all the more meaningful.

American Idol Favorites

Now I understand the reason behind the American Idol frenzy. Why people worldwide expectantly watch the show rooting for their faves. How each aspirant crosses their hands for Simon Cowell's approval; that tight-shirt-wearing-weird-hairdo Cowell sure is hard to please. American Idol won't be without Cowell's scathingly frank remarks, would it? Admit it! You hate him to bits but love him for it.

After 7 successful seasons and world-famous, top record-selling Idols, I finally jumped the bandwagon. I now watch the show religiously each week. In fact, I already have my bets.

I listen to a lot of jazzy blues and her voice has the potential to become the next Amy Winehouse, Adele and Duffy. And don't start talking about the tattoo covering her right arm; it has nothing to do with her voice. Much as Winehouse's addiction to drugs has nothing to do with the music she makes.

Her Walkin' After Midnight was HOT! She should get sick more. That was her best performance ever! And I'm thrilled to know she's in the Idol's summer tour.

What can I say? You gotta give it to the guy; he's versatile. He can be Timberlake (Jimmy Kimmel nicknamed him Justin Timberfake) and be Michael Buble on the side. A true measure of a brilliant artist is versatility and style and he's got these. So, most probably he'll make it through.

Danny Gokey

The Idol's favorite. He's not my first choice but there's just something about Gokey that's appealing. As opposed to the judges' enthusiastic remarks on his Jesus, Take The Wheel rendition, I honestly think he just slain it. 'Twas horrific. Underwood should be upset. Still, I'm looking forward for his future performances.

Bob Ong, Idol!

I'll devour this tonight. Every book I read by Bob Ong gave me a laughting treat; because of him, I now patronize Filipino contemporary authors especially those of the same genre. BUT not Tagalog romance books. Ugh! Auntie's advice echoes in my ears as she said back then, 'If you want to finish school, AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE!' I gave a blank, confused stare (feigning innocence! No. Really). After all, I was only a fresh graduate then about to start my high school life. It was only years after when I understood the wisdom behind her words.

The Unwanted Thrill

Hurray! No more exams. No more 3-in-1 coffees. No more staying up late balancing amounts on financial statements. No more stiff necks. Goodbye my ally calculator; won't be needing yourservices for a while (I hope).

Summer's around the corner. When I should be celebrating some place else, I'm holding on to rosary beads hoping for some miracle to happen, the ever longed for 3.o grade. Professors. Jeez. Don't they just love stressing students? Why prolong our anxiety for days.? End it now and give our damn grades! That way we can either jump for joy or accept our defeat, if need be. Hey. We need ample time to lick our wounded egos, revamp our spirits and MOVE ON.

A week's sulking is long enough. Whatever happens, happens. I MUST NOT CRY and take it badly. Everything's part of a grander plan. Everything's interconnected. So whatever the results are, I'll just leave it be and consider the options. But definitely, I'll be back on my feet again.

After Monday? I can finally breathe and head for the beach.

Change Of Skin

After weeks of hiatus, I'm back to working the keyboard again for real. I have been feeling blue this past week and coherence is hard to achieve when you're just bawling like crazy. The world has enough confusion to deal with so let's not make me add up to that with an incoherent, drunken post. Unloading junk to a rather suitable digital diary with a bit more privacy (which blogger is not btw) sounded like a better idea.

So anyway, I've been scouring for nice layouts online; blogger templates that go well with the XML format. I am missing the convenience of widgets! A bit of spunk and personalized feel revamps every page and I am missing that definitive character in my page. I am such a dummy when it comes to designing things so I heavily rely on pre-made and free templates. AND IT'S DAMN HARD to find something that just suits my personality, you know. I mean, you use this account and express yourself thus I believe the layout must precede and reflect the kind of person who owns the blog, right?

Hey, my blog layout ain't so bad. I edited the banner/header (whatever that's called) myself. THAT IS ALREADY AN ACHIEVEMENT FOR ME. In fact, I even bragged it to my friends because I was pleased with myself that I can actually design something decent. Of course, with the help of online editing tools which make things a lot easier. Thank God for technology and passionate developers who considers simpletons like me.

In line with my quest of finding a new layout (and hope I CAN tweak it according to my personal style) my blog will be under construction. Meaning, I'd be changing from one layout to another UNTIL I have the ME feeling in it already.

AND OH! Would you believe it? I GOT AN AWARD. TWO AWARDS, in fact. My first time to receive awards from a fellow blogger. THANK YOU ATE KAYE. I mean, was that for real?

I got the *tantananantanan* MOST AMAZING DESIGN (I deserve this?) and THE FRIENDSHIP AWARD (well, I'm friendly so..)!
