Movie Review: Crazy Little Thing Called Love

Viral movie trailer posts got me curious. I was never a fan of Thai movies except for their horror films such as Shutter and Next Picture. When I think Thai movies, I instantly associate them with horror flicks. The hilarious movie trailer really changed my mind. I hurriedly scoured Youtube for english subbed one. I endured watching all 9 parts albeit the poor video quality. That's how it was.

I'll let the movie trailer do the talking as it sums up everything I loved with the movie. As you can see, the plot is pretty simple. As they say, there is beauty in simplicity; it's simplicity totally won me. It brought laughter and tears. It talks of infatuation and love, of bonds of friendship, of keeping YOU while trying to win someone's affections, of fulfilling your dreams and letting things settle down in their own time.

I especially loved how it transported me back to my high school days. I guess, what really got me hooked is the simple portrayal of high school life. How I once went through the lengths Nam did to win her guy while not trying to make things obvious. THIS IS THE WHAT-I-HATE-AND-I-DON'T-GET-YET-STILL-DO. DO NOT MAKE THE FIRST MOVE SINCE IT IS INAPPROPRIATE. The only hindrance to happiness is YOU and what you think people would think.

But anyway, I laughed and almost cried, all thanks to the movie. The reconciliation between friends was especially sweet. I immediately though of my best friends and how we used to get into petty fights. The teacher was so hilarious I'd want to watch any movie she's in as long as its comedy!

So basically folks, what I am trying to say is WATCH THE MOVIE. Yes, plot's simple and the kind you've watched in hundreds of films already but believe me, this is worth your while. In fact, I am currently scouring the web for a good torrent just so I can watch this all over again in times when I desperately need a feel good movie.
