Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, A Must See for 2009
The Underworld series is back again for a third movie. I believe it is inappropriate to dub this as 'Underworld 3' since the movie's actually a prequel, retelling how the war started between the vampires and Lycans (werewolves). Meaning, it recounts Sonja and Lucian's love story as well. But fret not sappy-movie haters, I am quite sure the movie won't involve excessive romantic crap. In fact the movie's hardly romantic.
"The prequel story traces the origins of the centuries-old blood feud between the aristocratic vampires known as Death Dealers and their onetime slaves, the Lycans. In the Dark Ages, a young Lycan named Lucian (Sheen) emerges as a powerful leader who rallies the werewolves to rise up against Viktor (Nighy), the cruel vampire king who has enslaved them.
