"I probably did slur my words,I told [producer Cameron Mackintosh] that would be the only way I could sing in front of everyone." -Keira on Glamour UK issue
That's how Keira won the role for the My Fair Lady remake, DRUNK. Probably, this would be her musical debut albeit not the first time she'll sing onscreen which she did recently on The Edge of Love.
She says she was a bit dehydrated when asked to sing but they said it was alright. It's final and Keira will star in the musical movie playing the Cockney girl turned society princess previously played by Audrey Hepburn herself.
This 1968 musical seem to fit Keira well. Her portrayal of the lead characters in both Pride and Prejudice and The Atonement make her no stranger to classic roles. I'm hoping she'll give justice to what Audrey brought to the movie and I don't want to hear her borrowing someone else's voice!
Does she sing well? I haven't watched The Edge of Love.
